Summary:

The aim of the research is a literature review about the problem of temporomandibular joints and masticatory muscles in patients with teeth occlusion and teeth row disturbances. Teeth occlusion and teeth row disturbances are widespread pathology of maxillofacial area, that can lead to different pathology alterations of masticatory system including musculo-articular dysfunction. Some specialists consider that the key factor of pathogenesis of musculo-articular dysfunction is occlusion disturbances, by the other opinion - discoordination of muscle contraction. Thus occlusive and muscular disorders are leading in pathogenesis and clinic of musculo-articular dysfunction

Summary:

For the purpose to determine the clinical pathogenetic efficacy of Cycloferon liniment in the combined therapy of parodontitis in patients with chronic brucellosis medical examination and treatment of 50 patients was carried out.
It was established that use of liniment Cycloferon in the combined treatment of patients with pariodontitis against chronic brucellosis allowed to accelerate process of normalization of parameters of lipid peroxidation and antioxidant potential of blood, to decrease infection load (herpes symplex virus I, candida albicans, staphylococcus aureus) in parodontal recess and evidence of local inflammation with reduction of activity of tumour necrosis and interleukin 1b, that provided acceleration of recovery processes, lowering in frequency of pariodontitis recurrences

Clinical and radiological evaluation of sinus-lifting results with digital volume tomography

Year: 2010, volume 6 Issue: №2 Pages: 396-400
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Original article
Authors: A.M. Panin, A.Yu. Vasiljev, V.V. Vishnyakov, N.S. Serova, A.A. Kharlamov

Summary:

Modern techniques of radiological examination form the basis for additional diagnostic and planning methods of surgical treatment in oral surgery and implantology. Assessment of maxillary sinus condition and sinuslifting results is a part of preoperative examination before dental implantation. The estimated results of digital volume tomography after sinuslifting have shown that 51,1% of patients have lack of volume of implant on the medial wall of the sinus. That does not allow placing dental implant in correct position. The digital volume tomography is highly informative and convenient radiological examination method in diagnosis of maxillary sinus condition, assessment of sinuslifting results and application of further dental implantation

Immunological disorders in formation of periodontal diseases at pregnant women

Year: 2010, volume 6 Issue: №2 Pages: 392-396
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Original article
Authors: A.V. Lepilin, M.V. Dubrovskaya
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

The research goal is to study clinical and immunological features of parodentium and cytokine profile in oral cavity of pregnant women.
The condition of parodentium tissues was studied at 200 women with physiological pregnancy and 300 women with pregnancy complicated by gestosis. According to the results of examination 50 women with gestosis and 50 women with physiological pregnancy had inflammatory periodontal diseases. Phenotyping of lymphocytes by immunofluorescence method, investigation of necrosis containing factor of tumour-a, interleukin-8, interleukin-4 and transforming growth factor beta-1 in oral cavity by immunofermental analysis were performed.
Frequency and character of inflammatory periodontal diseases at pregnancy were defined. Correlation of gingivitis and periodontitis at pregnancy with extragenital pathology was demonstrated. Immune and cytokine disbalance contributed greatly to pathogenesis of inflammatory periodontal diseases at pregnant women.
Thus pathogenesis of oral hygiene, smoking, gestosis, immunosuppression and cytokine disbalance affects inflammatory periodontal diseases at pregnant women

Summary:

The aim of this study to determine whether a pit fissure sealing teeth represents an effective method of decreasing the incidence of new dental caries, to gain the parents, teachers and Sumbangsih Education foundation acceptance on this new activity. Methods. The subjects were 7-11 year of age of 251 student of Sumbangsih Primary School, which located in Kemang, South Jakarta and Grogol, West Jakarta. Intra oral examinations and pit fissure sealing were done in the school dental clinic. The data were analyzed by Chi-square test. The results showed that, the number of student who receives pit-fissure sealant in primary school Kemang was 38%, and Grogol was 62%. The number of tooth with pit fissure sealant in 251 student was 825 tooth, however, the students who were received pit-fissure sealant age of 8 and 9 years old (40.36% and 43.39%) were higher then the other students of age 7, 10 and 11 years old. After 6 month evaluation, the occlusal sealant retention rates are including to, full complete retention in occlusal molar surface was 383 tooth had full retention higher significant than those of partial loss occlusant sealant retention (174 tooth). Nevertheless, the occlusal with complete sealant loos was significantly lower (p<0.001) than those of full occlusal sealant retention. The new decay was significantly decrease (p<0001) in all student, and almost 100% of parent of student were accepted the dental caries prevention through pit fissure sealant. further, almost more than 50% of tooth was still having a complete full retention glass-ionomer sealant. Conclusions. These findings were described that pit fissure sealant technique as an intervention for dental caries prevention in Sumbangsih primary school student could prevent the expansion of initial decay
