Diagnostics and treatment of this desease is not well performed yet in spite of the considerable number of hypotensive drugs recommended. Research demonstrates thr effct of treatment of the kind of patients with a new selective imidazoline receptors agonist rilmenidine. The sufficient hypotensive effect of this preparation is a accompanied by the typical for this class of drugs side effects. Thr better tolerance and effectiveness of rilmenidine allow to administer it to patients with metabolic changes (metabolic syndrome X and diabetes mellitus type 2 along with arterial hypertension).
