Summary:

The aim: to study the indices of stress-deforming state of biomechanical system «bone — hybrid anchor» in proximal humerus fractures. Material and Methods. The study of anchorage stiffness in juxta-articular fracture (type 11A3 by AO/ASIF) through applying three load types: axial (200 N), transverse (30 N) and torsional (5 N*m) was conducted followed by CAD modeling in SolidWorks and the analysis of stress-deforming state of the system «bone — anchor». Results. While studying the stability of «bone — anchor» system it was found that a new device for proximal humerus fracture ostheosynthesis under the applied loads do not decompose with maximal translocations of bone fragments and maximums of equivalent stress being present under torsional load and comprise 1.6 mm. and 152 Mpa respectively. Conclusion. The application of hybrid devices for juxta-articular fractures of humerus allows carrying out minimally traumatic anchorage with the following early functionality of the injured segment.

Biomechanical modelling of cerebral arteries at different variants of configuration of intracranial arteries of vertebrobasilar system

Summary:

The purpose is to consider the biomechanical modelling of cerebral arteries at different structural variants of intracranial arteries of vertebrobasilar system. Material and methods. By means of the system of the final and element analysis ANSYS on the basis of data on geometry, morphometricand biomechanical properties of cerebral arteries their biomechanical models have been constructed. On the received models for 9 structural variants of intracranial arteries of vertebrobasilar system, haemodynamic parameters and parameters of the intense deformed condition of walls of arteries have been analyzed. Results. The most frequent variant of a configuration of intracranial department of vertebrobasilar system is the combination of average in size of angles of connection of vertebrata and bifurcation of basilar arteries. Such option occurs in 49% of cases. More rare variant (1,5% of cases) with the narrow angles of connection of vertebrata and bifurcations of basilar arteries has been observed. The design of intracranial arteries of vertebrabasi-lar system exerts an impact on distribution of bloodflow and effective tension in a vascular wall of back brain arteries. Conclusion. According to the study it has been determined that the constructed individual biomechanical models may provide information on some parameters of haemodynamics and the intense deformed condition of a vascular wall which causes the development of atherosclerosis and intracranial aneurisms.

Experimental substantiation of infected burn wounds of skin in laboratory animals

Summary:

Objective: To develop a method of simulation of infected area and depth-controlled burn wound through the use of laser radiation. Material and methods: The contact surgical fiber laser at heating mode of 220°C within 2 с has been used in a surgical experiment on 50 white lab rats under the control of a thermal imager, copper laser nozzle on the skin of an animal. Burn wounds have been infected. Results: Controlled single laser effect by the developed method helps speed up the simulation and subsequent infection of burn wounds, all layers of the skin. Conclusion. The infected burn wound model is suitable for the development of effective combined surgical treatment.
