Summary:

Objective: to study the wound healing activity of the gel form of the "Mellisol" preparation containing nanoaggregates of flavonoids stabilized with polyazolidine ammonium modified with iodine hydrate ions on a model of experimental planar wounds of rats. Material and Methods. An investigation of the wound healing activity of the gel form of the "Mellisol" preparation was carried out in vivo in 18 white laboratory rats of the Wistar line. Simulation of experimental planar wounds was performed according to the standard procedure described in the preclinical testing manual. Results. In the course of the studies, it was established that a statistically significant (p=0.045) acceleration of healing on the 12th day of the experiment occurred in animals of the experimental group on whose wounds the gel form of the cosmetic means "Mellisol" was applied, and the complete healing of the wound defect occurred on the 21st day after operation. Conclusion. The gel form of the preparation "Mellisol" is characterized by a high level of antimicrobial and regenerative activity reliably reducing the healing time for planar wounds without the development of microbial complications.

Authors: Raikova S.V., Durnova N.A., Prikhodko V.V., Nemolyaeva E.K., Plastun V.O.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

The main goal of investigation was antimicrobial activity of herbal extracts from Sedum maximum (L.) Hoffm., Sedum telephium L. received by different methods. Material and Methods. Extractions from the purification of S. maximum (L.) Hoffm. and S. telephium L. obtained by different methods were the object of study. Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538P, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27835, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Candida albicans ATCC 13108 were used as test cultures. Results. The minimum inhibitory concentrations of the investigated flavonoid-containing aqueous solutions of alcohol extracts of the purification were determined for the following test cultures: S. aureus, P. aeruginosa, E. coli. Conclusion. The antibacterial effect of the studied extracts on all strains of bacteria taken in the experiment was detected. The action is most pronounced in relation to S. aureus. Antimycotic activity was not detected.

Summary:

Aim: to study antimicrobial activity of variants of polymeric compound polyazolidinammonium modified by iodine hydrate-ions (PAAG-M), depending on the polymeric chain length and concentration of the iodine hydrate-ions against standard strains of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria as well as microscopic fungi. Materials and methods. Minimum inhibitory concentrations of all variants of the polymeric compound for tested microbial strains have been determined by using serial dilution method. Results. High sensitivity of Eschehchia coli 113-13 and Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853 was shown to the variants of PAAG-M with molecular weight

Siofor influence on the process of lipid peroxidation and antioxidant status at patients with metabolic syndrome

Year: 2013, volume 9 Issue: №4 Pages: 744-748
Heading: Endocrinology Article type: Original article
Authors: Chernysheva E.N., Panova T.N.
Organization: Astrakhan State Medical Academy
Summary:

The Purpose of the work is to research siofor influence (metformin) on the activity of the process of lipid peroxidation and antioxidant activity of blood serum at patients with metabolic syndrome. Material and Methods. 62 patients with metabolic syndrome at the age from 30 till 60 were examined and treated by siofor (1700 mg per day) during a year. The process of lipid peroxidation was studied due to the level of lipid hydroperoxide of blood serum. Antioxidant capacity was based on the antioxidant reaction in the blood serum with definite number of exogenic hydrogen dioxide (mkmole/l) with the method of ELISA. Results. Intensification of process of lipid peroxidation has been observed at patients with metabolic syndrome —the level of lipid hydroperoxide of blood serum has been 2,9 (1,94; 3,9) mkM, antioxidant activity of blood serum has been decreased — 276,4 (239,0; 379,9) mkmole/l. In 12 months of siofor intake hydroperoxide level has been decreased till 1,1 (0,8; 1,9) mkM, but antioxidant activity has been increased and amounted 320,0 (278,9; 334,3) mkmole/l. Conclusion. Siofor has been proved to be a highly effective medicine for correction of process of lipid peroxidation and for improvement of antioxidant activity of blood serum at patients with metabolic syndrome.

The effects of large stonecrop (Sedum maximum (L.) Hoffm.) and purple stonecrop (S. telepium L.) on aqueous solution of alcoholic extracts on Staphylococcus aureus АТС С 209R, Pseu-domonas aeruginosa ATCC 27835, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 have been studied by the method of double serial dilution followed by seeding on solid culture media. As a result of the work the minimum inhibitory concentrations for all extracts to all the studied cultures have been found. Stonecrop extracts have bactericidal action. Conclusion. Antimicrobial activity has been determined for the extracts of both species for all researched samples of microbial strains.
