Summary:

The purpose of the work is to prescribe combined treatment in order to determine the efficiency of cycloferon liniment. Materials and methods. 80 patients suffering from such inflammatory disease of parodentium as herpetic stomatitis and periodontitis have been examined and treated. Results. Cycloferon liniment used in the combined treatment of stomatitis and periodontitis reduces the infection load in gingival pockets, decreases local inflammation, normalizes immunity parameters, decreases endotoxemia and reduces relapse rates. Conclusion. Cycloferon liniment is an efficient medication restoring the parameters of local nonspecific immune response.

Summary:

The aim of the research was the study of the cell proliferation indices of the gum epithelial cells in patients with parodentium inflammatory diseases accompanied by gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Material and methods. 160 patients were examined, 60 patients with parodentium inflammatory diseases accompanied by NEGERD, 40 patients with parodentium inflammatory diseases accompanied by GERD. The comparison groups consisted of 40 patients with diseases of parodentium without esophagus pathology and 20 healthy persons. Results. On the basis of the conducted clinical-endoscopic, immune-histological and morphological examinations it was established that gingivitis and periodontitis are successive stages of disturbance of the cellular homeostasis of gum epithelial cells. Conclusion. The enhancement of the processes of proliferation and apoptosis promotes the progression of the structural alterations in the tissues of parodentium and oesophagus and may serve as additional diagnostic and prognostic criteria of the diseases of parodentium accompanied by GERD.

Summary:

The purpose of the study, to improve the quality of treatment of mild periodontitis based on clinical and microbiological studies on the effectiveness of pharmacotherapy by liniment of cycloferon. Research methods. Clinical study included 50 patients aged 20-50 years old with mild periodontitis in the acute stage. Liniment of cycloferon was applied on the gums two times a day in 10-12 hours for 14 days. Microbial picture of oral mucosal and periodontal pockets in patients with periodontitis were analyzed twice before the treatment and at 30-31-day of observation according to the detection of microorganisms by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Results. The dynamics on the background of pharmacotherapy in patients with mild periodontitis with liniment of cycloferon showed a significant decrease in the frequency of identification of pathogenic flora, compared with conventional therapy of periodontitis, the disappearance of complaints and the main clinical manifestations of periodontitis. Conclusion. The accelerated recovery of patients with periodontitis decreasing frequency of relapses by pharmacotherapy using liniment of cycloferon accompanied by sanogenic effects for microbial associations of periodontal pockets and oral mucosa showed pathogenic focus and efficiency of the drug in periodontitis.

Choice justification of a method of immobilization in fractures of lower jaw in patients with chronic generalized periodontal disease of severe degree

Year: 2013, volume 9 Issue: №3 Pages: 387-389

Summary:

The purpose of the study: rationalization of selecting of the method of immobilization of the fragments of the mandible in patients with fractures, combined with chronic generalized periodontitis. Material and Methods. There were 70 patients with mandibular fractures in combination with chronic generalized periodontitis who underwent immobilization of the mandible in various ways. Clinical examination of common cytokines and Cross laps of the contents of periodontal pockets have been carried out. The results revealed that patients in the orthopedic treatment of the dynamics observed progression of inflammatory-destructive processes. When immobilization of the mandible with intermaxillary fixation on the titanium screws and the surgical method of treating inflammation at periodontal pockets cropped. Conclusion. Considering inflammatory complications of mandibular fractures in patients who have used the intermaxillary fixation screws in titanium, it has been found out that this method is more optimal.

Experience of application of ascorbate chitosan in the treatment of periodontal disease

Year: 2013, volume 9 Issue: №3 Pages: 372-375
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Original article
Authors: Bulkina N.V., Vedyaeva А.P., Tokmakova E.V., Popkova. O.V.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

Aim. To study the clinical anti-inflammatory effect of gel form 8% ascorbate chitozan in treatment of inflammatory periodontal disease. Material and methods. The study included 30 patients: 10 patients with chronic catarrhal gingivitis, 10 patients with chronic generalized periodontitis mild and 10 moderate. Criteria for inclusion of patients in the study: age between 18 and 45 years old, reliable diagnosis, informed consent of the patient. Case history of the disease duration from one to five years. The state of periodontal tissue was evaluated clinically and radiographically by intraoral radiography. According to treatment methods patients were divided into groups: group 1 underwent traditional treatment, group 2 was treated with the use of applications of 8% of ascorbate chitosan on the area of papillae and marginal gingiva with the capture of 1-2 cm of the mucous membrane of the alveolar process. The duration of treatment was 15 minutes daily for 10 days. Results. The patterns suggest that the therapeutic effect of ascorbate chitazan caused prolonged sanation of periodontal pockets due to the antibacterial activity of chitazan. Conclusion. The data show that regeneration in patients who have a combined treatment included ascorbate chitosan has been more rapid and complete than similar processes in periodontal patients treated in a traditional way.

Effect of endocrine pathology on the development and the course of oral diseases

Year: 2013, volume 9 Issue: №3 Pages: 366-369
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Review
Authors: Babajanyan S.G., Kazakova L.N.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

All systems of the human body are closely interconnected among themselves. The endocrine system directly influences formation, development and functioning of oral system. There is a close interrelation of endocrine disturbances with oral diseases. Clinical signs of dysfunction of glands of internal secretion firstly appear in the oral cavity. The knowledge of clinical symptoms, features of the course of diseases of internal secretion in the oral cavity will allow to diagnose and therefore, to prevent development of many complications: generalized periodontal disease, caries, osteoporosis of bone tissue and other diseases influencing quality of the oral system.

Heading: Stomatology Article type: Original article
Authors: Ostrovskaya L.U., Kobzeva U.A., Kharish N.A.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

To determine the clinical pathogenetic efficacy of Mexidol in the combined therapy of parodontitis in patients with peptic ulcers medical examination and treatment of 296 patients were carried out. Endoscopic, histological and im-munohistochemical studies were performed in all examined patients. Investigation of interleukin -6, -10, -18 in oral cavity by immunofermental analysis was conducted. It was established that Mexidol use in the combined treatment of patients with periodontitis and peptic ulcer allowed to decrease evidence of local inflammation, to normalize processes of neurohumoral and cytokine regulation, that provided acceleration of recovery processes, decrease in periodontitis recurrences. The statistical programs Exsel и Statistica 6.0 were used in the study. The subsequent analysis of the received data was carried out
