Chronic oral pathology and ischemic heart disease and its complications

Year: 2013, volume 9 Issue: №3 Pages: 408-412
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Original article
Authors: Ivaschenko Y.Y., Shvarts Y.G., Parkhonyuk E.V., Eremin O.V.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

Objective: to establish the relationship of chronic generalized periodontitis, multiple cavities and dentofacial anomalies with various forms of coronary heart disease and its complications. Material and methods. The study included 294 patients with coronary heart disease and its complications. The patients were divided into two groups. Group I included 89 patients with acute Q-myocardial infarction, which was placed in the presence of at least 2 of the following criteria identified on the basis of a comprehensive clinical and instrumental examination: clinical, laboratory confirmation (CK-MB), electrocardiographic signs of damage or myocardial necrosis. The following statistical methods were used: multi-variate and univariate analysis of variance, non-parametric tests, crosstabulation, chi-square test, Fisher»s exact test. As a measure of variability of the normal distribution standard deviation was used. Results. It is noted that in patients with myocardial infarction more likely than in patients without coronary heart attack in history severe generalized periodontitis, dentofacial anomalies and multiple dental caries have appeared. In patients with acute myocardial infarction, severe periodontal disease has been associated with increased fibrinogen levels in the blood and an increase in the dispersion of the interval QT, which are known to be indicators of poor prognosis in acute coronary disease.

Assessment of changes in clinical and biochemical indicators of saliva at caries according to monitoring

Year: 2013, volume 9 Issue: №3 Pages: 361-363
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Original article
Authors: Albitskaya J.N., Bulkina N.V., Vulakh N.A., Kropotina A.Yu., Polosukhina E.N., Guseva O.Yu., Parfyonova S.V.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

The research goal was to determine the variability in the salivary characteristics, depending on the season, identifying the most important indicators of the salivary characteristics at different degrees of intensity of caries process and the establishment of a correlation between these indicators. Structural characteristics of salivary pools of the students of stomatological faculty have been invented. Object of research. The salivary pools were collected at 8-9 a.m. within 1-1.5 hours after tooth cleaning. The investigation of oral cavity and the biochemical rates were marked twice: in autumn and spring. Results. The tests show, that biochemical characteristics of saliva depend on the caries involvement. It was detected, that caries involvement depends on the region, food characteristics and oral hygiene. It was proved, that saliva has buffers characteristics. Conclusion. These results can be used for explaining the molecular mechanisms of homeostasis disorders in the oral cavity and evaluating the efficiency of preventive and therapeutic measures at early stages of caries.

Comparative analysis of psychophysiological characteristics of clinically healthy persons with an average teeth resistance to caries harmonious and anxious personality types

Year: 2011, volume 7 Issue: №2 Pages: 385-387
Heading: Physiology and Pathophysiology Article type: Short message
Authors: Khalturina V.G., Kirichuck V.F., Kodochigova A.I., El-bubu М.М. M. A., Kucherov M.G.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University, Penza Regional Children's Clinical Hospital n.a. N.F.Filatov
Summary:

When analyzing the results of psychophysiological study of healthy individuals aged 18 to 30 years with an average teeth resistance to caries of harmonious and anxious personality types, it was revealed that the number of representatives of anxious type were more than of harmonic type; and high neuroticism, anxiety and conflicting intrapersonal tendencies which are the risk factors for dental caries origin and progression, were observed in their personal radical. In this regard, the plan of preventive arrangements for carious process progression in clinically healthy persons of anxious psycho-type seems to be the rational measure

State of acid-basic ballance in children's oral cavity with chronic pyelonephritis

Year: 2011, volume 7 Issue: №1 Pages: 332-333

Organization: state policlinic №2 of the city Vladivostok, First Moscow State Medical University n.a. I.M. Sechenov
Summary:

In the present thesis are reported the results of study of mixed saliva of children and adolescents diagnosed with chronic pyelonephtitis. Chronic pyelonephritis is a chronic destructive inflammation in the tissues of kidneys in most cases accompanied by hyperparathyreoidism, which in turn leads to the phenomena of acidosis throughout the body. In the study of pH-level and buffer saliva capacity it was revealed, how this values correlate with the studies of underlying disease, that is the risk factor of the occurrence and development of major dental diseases, and it should be considered by dentists in the development of therapeutic and preventive measures

Year: 2011, volume 7 Issue: №1 Pages: 290-291
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Short message
Authors: Eryomina N.V., Romanovskaya L.D., Posmetnaya T.V., Viryasova N.A., Nozdrina V.D.
Organization: Penza Institute for Advanced Training of Physicians
Summary:

The purpose of the research -to determine the effectiveness of enamel-sealing liquid employment as preventive measures and as medical treatment of caries and dental hyperesthesia. Employment of the enamel-sealing liquid for children is an effective method of fissures mineral sealing and is used as preventive measures and as medical treatment of caries. After the process of deep fluoridation is complete, the enamel-sealing liquid action results as remineral-ization and mostly stabilization of so called tiny spots on the surface of the enamel is observed. The employment of the medicine for dental hyperesthesia treatment that occurred after the dental bleaching is of a high effectiveness as well

Steps in computerizing the enamel resistance test

Year: 2011, volume 7 Issue: №1 Pages: 266-268
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Short message
Authors: Okushko V.R., Kozadaev S.I., Potolya A.V.
Organization: Dnester State University n.a. T.G. Shevchenko
Summary:

The article reveals the data on the use test of enamel resistance (TER) in studies on dental caries - the central problem in dentistry. Importance of predictive tests which allow focusing prevention efforts on deferent individuals at deferent times is being emphasized. The description of TER clinical techniques is presented; its weakness in terms of objectifying the degree of staining in the tested site is indicated. A standard color scale available in the Internet is proposed. In case of its application by all the authors who use TER, this methodological innovation will allow to obtain objective information about the level of tooth functional resistance under various conditions
