Summary:

The purpose of the study: rationale for selecting the method of immobilization of bone fragments of the mandible in patients with fractures, combined with chronic generalized periodontitis based on clinical and cytomorphological data. Materials and methods. Were examined 60 patients with mandibular fractures in combination with chronic generalized periodontitis who underwent immobilization of the mandible in various ways. Patients underwent clinical examination and conventional cytomorphological examination of the contents of periodontal pockets. As a result, found that patients in the orthopedic treatment of the dynamics observed progression of inflammatory-destructive processes. When immobilization of the mandible with intermaxillary fixation titanium screws and the surgical method of treating inflammation at the level of periodontal pockets cropped. Conclusion. Given the smaller number of inflammatory complications of mandibular fractures in patients who have used the maxillary fixation screws in titanium, this is the best

Year: 2011, volume 7 Issue: №3 Pages: 711-714
Heading: Urology Article type: Original article
Authors: Durnov D.A., Mikhailov V. Yu., Zakharova N.B., Ponukalin A.N.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

Aim: The article considers the results of research of the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in blood serum in patients with kidney and bladder tumors after surgical intervention. Materials and methods: The total of investigated patients consisted of 75 primary patients with kidney cancer (stages pT1-pT3N0M0), 75 patients with non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC), stages pTa-1NxMoG1-3, 25 patients with cysts of kidneys and 30 healthy patients. Results of research of content of VEGF in patients with kidney cancer and NMIBC in the postoperative period confirmed the role of angiogenesis processes both in the development of tumoral tissue and relapses of disease. Conclusion: Investigations of VEGF in blood serum may be additional method of revealing kidney cancer and NMIBC after surgical treatment of relapses of disease and may influence on the duration of recurrence-free period

Summary:

The research goal is to study the composition of biological vascular endothelial injury markers in dynamic development of burn disease. Materials and methods: the investigation included 32 patients with thermal burns. The markers of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1) and the number of circulating endothelial cells (CECs) were observed. Results: it was revealed that levels of VEGF, MCP-1 and CECs were significantly increased in patients with thermal traumas. Conclusion: VEGF and MCP-1 were proved to be early and prominent vascular endothelial injury markers in burn disease

Year: 2011, volume 7 Issue: №2 Pages: 485-490
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Original article
Authors: Vedyaeva A.P., Bulkina N.V., Smirnov D.A., Zakharova N.B.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

Application of immunomodulatorGepon in treatment of aggressive periodontitis provides the normalization of cyto-kine balance of periodontal pockets exudate by raising the level of anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1(3, IL-8, IFN-y) and osteoprotegerin, indirectly confirming the improvement of bones of alveolar processes of jaws, as well as by significant decrease in the concentration of proinflammatory cytokines (IL-4, IL-10) and transforming growth factor (3. Gepon application improves the efficiency of preoperative period, accelerates postoperative rehabilitation of patients and helps achieve remission period up to 6 months in 71 % of cases, which is in 28% higher than in patients receiving traditional treatment

Disturbances in system of cytokines and lipid exchange in patients with psoriasis

Year: 2011, volume 7 Issue: №2 Pages: 434-437

Summary:

Investigation of proinflammatory and antiinflammatory cytokines content in blood serum (IL-1 (3, IL-4, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, INF-y, IL-17) was carried out for establishment of clinical and diagnostic value of disturbances of immunoregulatory processes and lipid spectrum in patients with psoriasis. Method of solid phase immune-enzyme analysis and indicators of lipid profile on biochemical analyzer Stat Fax were used in the study. It was found out that psoriasis exacerbation was accompanied by change of proinflammatory and antiinflammatory cytokines in blood serum and increase of lipid profile level. The hyperproliferation and inflammatory skin changes in case of psoriasis exacerbation were accompanied by hyperproduction of cytokines and disturbance of immunoregulatory processes to Th-2 cellular answer including autoimmune processes. The described changes led to raised synthesis of lipids and to their entry into peripheral blood flow. Determination of proinflammatory cytokines and lipids level in blood serum in patients with psoriasis can be used for an estimation of severity of disease, its development prognosis and administered therapy

Summary:

The aim of this study was the estimation of clinical importance markers of renal damage at surgical treatment of nephrolithiasis. We studied results of operations in 110 patients with nephrolithiasis. The study presents new candidates for biochemical markers of acute kidney injury and renal interstitial fibrosis, with potentially high sensitivity and specificity. In this study were measured the concentrations of these biomarkers in urine. We suggested, that increased concentrations molecular mediators of renal damage (L2, IL-18) and interstitial fibrosis (MCP-1, TGFp, IGF1) in the patients with nephrophibrosis and strongetubulointerstitial injury, saved long-time period after operation, has been shown of progression chronic kidney disease

Summary:

The aim of the study is to evaluate the influence of angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors of quinapril on the condition of renal hemodynamics, changes of profibrotic cytokines level and transforming growth factor at patients with nephrolithiasis undergone various kinds of surgery. Patients were divided into 2 groups initially and in 1 month after surgery. Concentrations of IL-6, TGFp and МСР-1 were determined in blood serum. Assessment of renal blood flow state by Doppler ultrasonography was performed in the same terms. As a result of quinapril treatment the decrease of МСР-1, TGFp and IL-6 was marked in comparison with the group which did not receive nephroprotective therapy. The analysis of Doppler ultrasonography data showed authentic improvement of renal blood flow in 1 month after surgery. The most informative parameter proved to be the resistance index that indicated the decrease of vascular resistance after surgical treatment in condition of quinapril therapy

Year: 2009, volume 5 Issue: №3 Pages: 428-433

Summary:

The aim of present work has been an assessment of degree of tubulointerstitial modifications of kidney parenchyma in patients with urolithiasis in different stages of surgical treatment using non-invasive mediators of nephrofibrosis and angiogenesis. The results of operations of 65 patients have been analysed. The content of nephrofibrosis molecular mediators in blood serum and urine has been determined. It has been shown that the most informative non-invasive mediators of tubulointerstitial fibrosis are IL12, VEGF in blood serum and b2-microglobulins MG, MCP 1 and NO excreted with urine. Patients with bilateral urolithiasis accompanied by expressive tubulointerstitial damages have had high indices of nephrofibrosis in postoperative period that can indicate irreversibility of these changes, leading to progression of chronic kidney disease
