Variability of cephalometric parameters of men with orthognathic and direct occlusion

Year: 2014, volume 10 Issue: №1 Pages: 52-55
Heading: Macro- and Micromorphology Article type: Original article
Authors: Sheludko S.N., Muzurova L.V., Konnov V.V., Mikheeva M.V.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

The aim: to study the variability of morphometric parameters of the head of men of 21-35 years old, with orthognathic and direct occlusion and identify their differences. Material and Methods. Cephalometry performed in 93 men aged 21 to 35 years from the Saratov region. Distribution groups conducted for the type of physiological occlusion: orthognathic (n=61) and direct (n=32). To determine the parameters used cephalometric anthropometric standard set of tools. On the head cephalometric points were determined between which measured morphometric parameters of the cranial and facial departments, as well as parameters of soft tissue structures. Results. In men with physiological occlusion parameters having statistically significant differences in orthognathic and direct bite were identified: head length, morphological face height, the height of nasal and maxillary division, mandibular body height, width of the face, the angular width of the face. Average values of these parameters are more prevalent in men who have a direct bite.
Conclusion. The data obtained should be considered during orthodontic and orthopaedic treatment, with lectures and practical training in the departments and faculties of the human anatomy with the dental profile.

Year: 2013, volume 9 Issue: №3 Pages: 486-489
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Original article
Authors: Chekhonatskaya М.L, llyasova Е.В., Konnov V.V., Priezzheva V.N., Kochanov S.V., Khmara T.G., Arushanian A.R.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

The purpose: to prove diagnostic capabilities of modern radiation techniques in odontogenic maxillary sinusitis. Material and methods: The study involved 546 patients with sinusitis. The following methods have been used: X-ray of the paranasal sinuses, contrast maxillary sinus radiography, contact intraoral radiographs, orthopantomography, computer tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. Results. In 7,9% of cases the presence of odontogenic sinusitis has been established, in 92,1 % rhinogenous sinusitis has been revealed. The work provides information about the effectiveness of various radiation techniques in the diagnosis of odontogenic sinusitis. Conclusion. For suspected odontogenic sinusitis, treatment of choice includes the combined use of X-ray of the paranasal sinuses in the mentoanterior projection and contact intraoral radiographs of «causal teeth». Computer tomography is the most informative additional method to clarify the diagnosis of odontogenic sinusitis.

Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

The purpose: to improve the treatment of patients with orthopedic dento-alveolar deformation of dentition and occlusion by using a range of methods of psychophysiological support of patient care. Material and methods. The study included 86 patients, men and women aged from 18 to 49 years with dento-alveolar deformation of dentition and occlusion. The study used clinical, anthropometric, radiological, photometric and static methods. At each stage of treatment, to investigate the characteristics of the functional status of patients methods of SAN, IPC «adaptive», self-esteem of patients by developed questionnaire were used. Results. A direct, reliable, moderate correlation has been established between the estimates that have given quality of care to patients with a regularity of the complex of psychophysiological methods proposed. Conclusion. A positive impact of the proposed complex of psychophysiological methods to support the functional characteristics of the patients and their assessment of the treatment, and the effectiveness of orthopedic treatment have been determined.

Application of dynamic elect roneuro-stimulation at treatment of patients with deformations of dentitions complicated by muscular and articular dysfunction

Year: 2013, volume 9 Issue: №3 Pages: 418-421
Heading: Stomatology Article type: Original article
Authors: Konnov V.V., Razakov D.Kh., Soyher M.G., Klenkova M.I., Klimov A.V., Pylaev E.V.
Organization: Center for Interdisciplinary Dentistry and Neurology, Moscow, Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

The purpose: to evaluate the efficacy of dynamic electroneurostimulation in the complex treatment of patients with strains of dentition complicated by muscular and articular dysfunction. Material and methods. A total of 38 patients aged 25 to 49 years with the strains of dentition, complicated by muscular and articular dysfunction. Clinical, radiological and graphical methods have been applied. In the combined treatment of dentition deformities complicated by muscular and articular dysfunction, to relieve pain the method of dynamic electroneurostimulation has been used. Results help provide the information about the features and effectiveness of dynamic dysfunction. Conclusion. The use of dynamic electroneurostimulation relieves pain in various degrees of dysfunction in this case, restoring the function of the masticatory muscles and temporomandibular joint. Combining the frequency increases the therapeutic effect of the method by reducing the time of onset of analgesia and extending the duration of its action.

Optimization of orthopedic treatment of patients with defects of frontal dentition of maxilla

Year: 2013, volume 9 Issue: №3 Pages: 369-372
Heading: Traumatology and Orthopedics Article type: Original article
Authors: Bizyaev A.A., Konnov V.V., Pospelov A.N., Afanasov М.V., Ilyukhina М.О.
Organization: Saratov State Medical University
Summary:

Objective/Jo optimize the planning of design of non-removable bridge in the anterior upper teeth. Material/ Instrument for measuring the angle of inclination of the front palatal vault and angles of palatal surfaces of the front teeth. To improve the functional properties of bridges modeling of the intermediate part of the body was carried out by bridge engineering Ovate Pontic. The nature of the fit, the position and shape of the intermediate bridge of frontal portion of the upper jaw were also studied. Results: It has been found that the slope of the palatine anterior facets varied from 34° to 55°. Data were obtained by odontometry of central, lateral incisors and canines of the upper jaw. Conclusion/The angle of the front facet of the palatine teeth equals the angle of inclination of the middle third of the anterior palatal vault, the body of the prosthesis should move smoothly into the line of the anterior palatal vault, passing in each restored tooth.
