Mathematical modeling of structural indices of thyroid gland in thyroid pathology

Summary:

Purpose: the complete analysis of the morphological parameters of the thyroid gland in various forms of thyroid pathology by methods of mathematical modeling. Material and Methods. Histologically examined samples of operating thyroid glands of 199 patients of both sexes aged 21 to 74 years, were treated surgically. Experimental data were studied by factorial and discriminant analysis. Results. When the factor analysis of 60 experimental parameters were identified 14 major factors that indicate 14 main trends in the dynamics of the structure of the thyroid gland due to an increase in severity of pathological processes. Discriminant analysis showed that the study of quantitative structure of the thyroid gland there may be cases of erroneous inclusion in the theoretical option groups, however, the study of the entire set of indicators observed a 100% correct distribution of cases by groups of pathology. Conclusion. As a result, the factor of the original system of 60 morphological parameters of thyroid pathology in various forms has been minimized to 14 new uncorrelated parameters (main factors), reflecting changes in the morphology of the basic laws of the pathology of the gland. As a result of the discriminant analysis of morphological parameters of the thyroid gland in different types of its pathology the importance of semi-quantitative parameters of thyroid structure has been revealed.

Morphology of bone structures of acetabulum and femoral component of hip joint

Summary:

Purpose: to reveal features of bone structures correlation of acetabulum and femoral components of a hip joint. Material and methods. The sizes of acetabulum, pelvis and proximal metaepiphysis of femur have been determined on 98 sets of pelvis and femurs and 120 KT-grams of adults. Results. Sexual and bilateral distinctions, correlation of bone structures of acetabulum, proximal metaepiphysis and femur have been revealed. Conclusion. The received values of the main morphometric parameters of bone structures of hip joint and pelvis and their correlation develop the database of clinical anatomy of hip joint.

Prostate cancer diagnostics with biopsy material

Summary:

The aim of the article is to study the potential importance of specific location of biopsy of prostate cancer. Material and methods. Histological material from 700 patients has been examinated. 580 specimen of radical prostatectomy were examined. TRUS-guided 12-cores biopsy has been performed in all patients. Histological, computer morphomet-ric, immunohistochemal methods (PIN4-coctail, AR) were used. Results. It has been established that undergrading of carcinoma in needle biopsy occurred in 26% of patients. Overgrading of carcinoma in needle biopsy may also occur, but it was only found in 3% of cases. Undergrading results have been explained by low amount of tumor elements taken from tiny areas of carcinoma, multicentric growth and heterogenous structure of tumor. Conclusions. An important task is to identify the minimal or limited adenocarcinoma in biopsies, as tumor of >1cc volume is often found in prostatectomy specimen.

Cytologic assessment of dynamics of reparative processes in the experimental conditionally aseptic wound under the action of complex preparation based on chitosan and metal nanoparticles

Summary:

Objective: assessment of dynamics of reparative processes with the help of cytological examination of the preparations obtained from a conditionally aseptic wound under the action of a complex preparation based on biopolymer chitosan and metal nanoparticles. Material and Methods. A conditionally aseptic wound was simulated in 40 white outbred rats. In comparison and experimental groups cytologic assessment of dynamics of reparative processes was carried out. A number of neutrophilic leukocytes and fibroblastic row perl 00 cells in the preparations is recorded on the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 10th, 14th day from the moment of formation of the wound with the use of the immersion objective. Results. It is established, that in the comparison group the cytologic pattern of impression smear was characterized by decrease in neutrophilic leukocytes and increase in fibroblastic row cells by the 14th day from the moment of formation of the wound. In the experimental group (the use of a complex preparation) more intensive reduction of neutrophilic leukocytes and a significant increase in fibroblastic row cells by the 10th day and a complete healing by the 14th day from the moment of formation of the wound has been determined. Conclusion. When treated by a complex preparation based of biopolymer chitosan and metal nanoparticles earlier occurrence of fibroblastic row cells in preparations and a significant decrease in quantity of neutrophilic leukocytes have been observed.

Morphological changes in bone tissue around titanium implants subjected to micro-arc oxidation in alkaline electrolytes with and without the use of «CollapAn-gel»

Summary:

The purpose of the article is to conduct comparative study of the features of reparative processes in the bone during installation of titanium implants with sandblasted exposed microarc subsequent oxidation in alkaline electrolyte using osteoinductive formulation without the use of this preparation. Material and Methods. Histologically examined tissue samples from 24 adult rabbits in the region of titanium implant with osteoinductive formulation and without after 7, 14, 28, 56 and 112 days postoperatively. Results. It has been revealed that the installation of titanium implants subjected to micro-arc oxidation in alkaline electrolytes without the use of osteoinductive preparation leads to a moderate inflammatory response and the processes of bone formation take more time. When using identical implants with osteoinductive preparation «CollapAn-gel» led to a less expressed inflammatory response and a more active process of bone formation. Conclusion. The use of titanium implants subjected to sandblasting followed microarc oxidation in alkaline electrolytes is optimally combined with osteoinductive agents as it provides the best clinical results and highlights shorter time of bone regeneration.

Summary:

Objective: to determine the relation of linear parameters of the anterior cranial fossa with dimensional facial characteristics of the human skull in various craniotypes. Research Material: 100 adult skulls divided into three craniotypes have been used. Methods. Craniotopometry has been used for the measurement of the average values and the correlation model construction. Results. It has been revealed that the most significant correlation has been observed in the parameters of fleksibasilar craniotypes, in medio- and platybasilar craniotypes the multidirectional dependence of the studied parameters has been characterized as of moderate and mild degree. Conclusion. Results of research are necessary theoretical base for possible use by clinical physicians in elaboration of tactics of stereotaksichesky approach to tumoral or other pathological processes in the field of front and brain departments of a skull.

Summary:

Purpose: To study correlation of total body sizes, heart and aorta at adult men. Material and Methods: Heart and aorta organometry has been carried out at 80 corpses of adult men (31-70 years) with known anthropometrical parameters with the subsequent statistical and correlative analysis of results. Results: 3 types of constitution of men have been determined, correlations between anthropometrical, organometrical and age parameters have been defined. Conclusion: The heart sizes mostly depend on the age, the shape of thorax, and constitution type.

Summary:

The purpose of the work is to study antitumor activity of flavonoid-containing extracts of anthocyan maize and gratiola in experiments in vivo and to estimate their effects on the internal organs, tumors and blood of rats with transplanted liver cancer PC-1. Materials and methods: Effect of extracts of anthocyan maize and gratiola has been studied in experiments in vivo in 30 laboratory rats with transplanted liver cancer PC-1 using morphological and biochemical methods. Results: It has been found that extract of gratiola received by a certain way has selective cytotoxic effect on tumor cells. Anthocyan maize extract reduces endogenous intoxication. Conclusion: These results open the prospect of further study of the extract of gratiola in various experimental models of cancer and anthocyan maize extract use may be developed as a means of endogenous intoxication reducing for application in the treatment of cancer. Investigation of anthocyan maize extract may assist in the development of drugs that reduce the endogenous intoxication at the treatment of cancer.

Summary:

The purpose of the article is to assess the severity of the morphological changes in the internal organs of laboratory animals with prolonged oral administration of gold nanoparticles of different sizes. Material and methods: The experiment was carried out on 40 albino rats which were divided into 4 groups. Animals of the experimental group received oral gold nanoparticles by the appropriate scheme. Results: At comparing the morphological changes in the internal organs of laboratory animals it was established that the introduction of gold nanoparticles of different sizes leads to the same type of disturbances of morphological structure, the gold nanoparticles of 1-3 and 50 nm cause the most expressive changes. Conclusion: The most significant morphological modifications in the internal organs were caused by gold nanoparticles of 1-3 and 50 nm. It points out to the size-dependence of the effect of gold nanoparticles.

Experimental substantiation of infected burn wounds of skin in laboratory animals

Summary:

Objective: To develop a method of simulation of infected area and depth-controlled burn wound through the use of laser radiation. Material and methods: The contact surgical fiber laser at heating mode of 220°C within 2 с has been used in a surgical experiment on 50 white lab rats under the control of a thermal imager, copper laser nozzle on the skin of an animal. Burn wounds have been infected. Results: Controlled single laser effect by the developed method helps speed up the simulation and subsequent infection of burn wounds, all layers of the skin. Conclusion. The infected burn wound model is suitable for the development of effective combined surgical treatment.
